Summer is Over~

Well, James is back in school which means I have some time to sew during the week. Please let me know if you have an order that you would like for me to put on my schedule. I run about 3 weeks so if you are ordering fabric or trim let me know so I can work you in. I have been having so much fun helping friends and family complete the decorating designs in their homes with these personal touches.

Can you get over that spring is right around the corner! March 20th is the first day of spring and calls for some spring cleaning! I Noe Design is going to be adding a line of fun kitchen towels that will spice up any kitchen and make us all feel like wiping down the counter! Make sure to keep posted on my new designs that I will be introducing through the month.

I have my new price schedule listed on the right hand side of this site, so we can all budget for any products that you may want completed this year. I have also designed some fun new brochures with this and more info. Make sure to request next time I see you all~

January 2010 ~ A Great Start

Wow! I Noe Design has had a great kick off this year! We had an Open House with The Mommy Pod. It was so fun for everyone to come to my house and see all my work that I have done over the past couple of years with Home Decor Sewing Projects. I hope that everyone got some good ideas. I am looking forward to working with a couple of interior decorators this year that is really going to make a difference! When we are looking to invest even a couple hundred in drapes or bedding, it is always good to get some decorating advice which can be between a $25-$85 investment, for things you are going to be looking at for a long time~
Silent Auctions ~ This year so far I have participated in two. With the open house I was a part of the basket from The Mommy Pod. I donated some candle sticks and will be doing a custom runner for the winner, Meera from Dream Dinners.

Thanks for all my orders already in 2010! Everyone is keeping me busy and I was so excited to see all of my Christmas dresses on facebook. They even made it on multiple Christmas cards! I love sewing for all the little girls in my life. I am having all my close friends, family, and clients over for an Open House on January 23rd. I am doing this event with The Mommy Pod and we are doing a Silent Auction for the American Cancer Society. I will post my basket here on my blog along with The Mommy Pod website and ACS website. We have a lot going on this year that we want to share with our family and friends. This year at I Noe Design we will be joining forces with The Mommy Pod. To help moms conquer their careers as mothers! We are also going to be working with two interior designers and offering packages for our services. These should be completed by March and we will do a launch to all clients for the promotional packages.
Here are some design ideas to help you kick off 2010 with I Noe Design~
1. Remake the look of your gathering room by getting new accent pillows or have us recover existing ones for as low as $15 each for labor. Visit fabric favorites at bottom right hand side to find fabrics that will work for you. You can coordinate these fabrics and have new window treatments made for as low as $30 each, labor only.
2. Remake your guest bathroom by having us create a custom shower curtain for your home. These start at $35 and give you endless possibilities as far as length and designs.
3. Remake your bedroom by having us create two shams to go on your bed and also new valances. Packages start at $80 for the labor of this redesign.
4. Remake your kitchen table with a runner that will bring all your colors in the spice up that table when it is not being covered by food or crafts. These can start as low as $20 and you can have so much fun with adding ribbons and tassels.

Park Crossing Craft Show

What a great time I Noe Design had at this show. My four month old Graham was my best sales man! We were there with Quill Designs and had a blast selling dresses and aprons that Julie Quill was able to monogram on the spot. She has all colors of scarves that she is selling with one initial monogrammed for $21 and they were a hit. She has a sale, if you buy 2 you get the 3rd half off. Let me tell you that many took advantage of this special~ I also was able to book a couple of custom curtain deals that made the day a wonderful success. Everyone loved Graham as he slept through the show! I hope that next year is as good as this year. Now that the craft shows are over I will stick with the $45 an hour labor rate till after the holidays. Thank you so much to everyone that made the show a success.

Craft Attack 2009

Thanks to everyone that came to the show. It ended up being a wonderful day. Baby Break - Taking Next Orders in Jan 2010

Well what a blessing this little business has been to me over the past year. After doing my taxes for last year I was stunned by all the business the Lord blessed me with through all of you. While James was sleeping and spending time with his grandmas I got to create all these wonderful window treatments for all my friends and family members. Now that James is on the move and does not like to watch me sew, go figure, it is becoming a little hard to keep up with the demand. As many of you know Chris and I are expecting our second child August 4th. So with James and all of his activities and also listening to my body and resting, I am going to have to take a break from sewing custom orders.

Homearoma 2008

I went to this event this year and took these pictures of window treatments in these wonderful homes. I hope that you get as many ideas from them as I did. I love the combination of design styles to add the finishing touches. You can see they actually combine different window treatments for a wonderful look. There are roll shades combined with a flat valance. They used trims at the top of panels to allow a flow of two different fabrics. They used pleats as accents to panels and valances. I hope that they inspire you as much as they did me~

Christmas is Here!!!!

What a great year I Noe Design has had! I can not get over all the support and referrals that I have gotten from all of my family and friends. I have started a referral program for every Home Decor referral I give a $10 credit and for clothing and gift I give $5 referral. So just make sure when your friends call me they let me know that you sent them!

We are also gearing up for the holiday season and I have some fun Christmas fabrics in stock that I can make all kinds of goodies with. I can use these on tea towels, bath towels, a dresses for your little angels with monogramming. They make the best gifts for those hard to find people!

My fabric belts have been a big hit for gifts! If you can come to my fabric closet you can custom design belts for all of your friends and family. They are $15 and I can make them to any style that you desire and you will be able to give your special ones something created just for them!

Craft show banners have been the unexpected hit of the year. If you visit my ETSY store you will see all kinds of options. These are great for any crafter that you know. They can hang them in their craft rooms and take them to craft and home shows since they are also a table cloth overlay. It gives them that extra pinch of inspiration when needed!

Summer Shows

We have a great summer and we have expanded our offerings at I Noe Design. We are partnering up with Julie Quill to add custom bedding to our offerings. This will allow for us to have a complete offering of home decor products and we are excited. Please visit the ETSY store to get further details on all of our products.

Our first event that we participated in was the Charlotte Mommies Annual Birthday. The second show was a trunk show done with Green Edge Kids clothing. I have now started sewing my tshirt dresses and selling them! All the girls love them at all ages from babies to 5 year olds adding leggings to complete the outfit. The third show that we will be advertising at is the Divine Consign Show that is happening in South Charlotte. New Products with Monograms

Always adding new things to my lines to make sure that I am meeting the needs of all my clients. The monograms started on some of my window valances and has expanded. I am now making little tee shirt dresses and adding the monograms for that extra touch. Also

This store shows fabric that I am now going to carry is stock along with other decorating items that you may want to complete your look.

DECORATING IDEAS
After working with all of my clients over the past three months, I have learned everything from how to deal with difficult curtain rods to tying in all rooms with fabrics. They are a wonderful thing!! Here are some ideas that I want to share that we have implemented in my client's homes.

~ DEFINE YOUR DIFFERENT AREAS IN YOUR GREAT ROOMS
Use what you have and accent with your new fabrics. A great example of this is to have a valance of one fabric created to go over a sink window. Then find another coordinating fabric and create valances to go over your dinette windows that are two toned. This allows for your two areas: the work kitchen and the dining area to have different looks while still staying the same. Then if you have panels in your den we can make tie backs out of one of the fabrics in the kitchen area. Your look will be complete at a very minimal cost.

~ EXTRA FABRIC
When you find fabrics you like, worry about where they go later. This is the best way to find what you are really looking for. If you get involved with trying to use everything you have, you will never get exactly what you want. I have had a client buy a fabric they liked and thought there was no where for it to go. We are creating a shower curtain, valance, and matching accent towels to complete the look in a bathroom that she is going to love! When you provide me with extra fabric it allows me to come up with other creative ideas to use it in your home.

~ VALANCES OVER SHOWER CURTAINS
That is right. You have this guest bathroom that everyone sees and there is a white curtain there for them to look at. I can create a valance with button holes to go right over the curtain you have. We can also add a band of the fabric at the bottom to complete the look. Fun, small investment, with a huge impact.

~ WHEN VALANCES ARE BETTER THAN PANELS
This is always a question to start with. Panels always give a fuller, deeper look but are they always better? The answer I have is no. I feel that with valances you can create such a custom look and draw the attention to the top of the room. Which is great when there are toys and mess all over the floor. Also, children pull on panels and animals hide in them. So I always make sure that these two items are addressed before making this decision. While loving both window treatments equal these thoughts need to come in mind before making the decision for custom window treatments.

Thanks to everyone for all the support on this sewing venture. I am about three weeks out right now. This is great! I have enjoyed coming to all of your houses and creating window treatments to really complete your decorating designs. The trips to Mary Jo's have been a blast. Kinda funny the lady that cuts the fabric knows exactly what type of lining I want:) We have added my mother's diaper bags out on the estore. These are great for new moms and also make great toy bags for older children. I have also enjoyed taking orders from people all over the US through ETSY. I never knew that this was going to be so much fun. I am loving the new sewing machine that my father purchased for me. I did not know how much I needed it until it was actually here. I am also in the process of joining with other moms that do crafts. We will be adding their items to the estore as well. Sorry the store is not stocked with goodies. I
